It's no secret: Ethiopian food is my favorite.
Give me a meal that requires no utensils and consists of delicious dips and bread? Yes. All the time. Assab is a solid Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant on Geary blvd. Writing about it makes me hungry. I will always recommend the vegetarian platter (just ask for no yogurt sauce and it's vegan). You've got lentils, collard greens, split peas, salad, zucchini, okra, potatoes, peas, carrots - it's like all the veggies come together and have a little party. Then you eat it with bits of injeera, a delightfully spongy bread with a bit of sourness to it. Go here, leave happy.

I have so many good things to say about Inn Season. But, since this is a blog with succinct posts, here's a list of why I love them.
Pictured above is one of their pastry specials which you should order if it's on the menu. Their pastries are amazing and the opera cake is my favorite dessert. Also, you MUST ORDER the Budapest mushroom soup. It's just perfect. Ps. If you're going for brunch (and you should) go early because there will be a line. It will be worth it. |
